Please feel free to contact us with any questions you might have which are not answered here. Our friendly and experienced staff know a great deal about garden building and are experts in their field.

In the vast majority of cases, you are allowed to have a garden building built on your property’s outside space without seeking planning permission. There are only a few exceptions. Please refer to separate planning permission leaflet for complete details.

Most of our garden structures are completely built on site within 5 days. Some of the very large rooms will normally take a few days more. The installation teams work Monday-Friday and will stay locally until the garden building is complete.
Even though the garden building is raised off the ground and has a vented space underneath, to prevent rising damp, weeds will not grow directly underneath the garden structure as there is no daylight. If the garden structure is positioned on a lawn or soil area, it is advised to dig a small channel around the outer walls and filling with gavel or mulch. This will prevent weeds from growing up around the outer edges of the garden building.
All our PVCu and Aluminium doors and windows are supplied with a secure operating mechanism for ease of opening and locking. Each individual door and opening window has a high security galvanized steel reinforced locking system on both the master and slave door comprising a system of hook locks, shoot bolts and deadlocks. Each door is fitted with high security multi-point anti-drill locking systems to provide maximum security. Each opening window has lockable handles. All doors and windows have insurance approved locks.
Typically, 4-6 weeks from order date to installation. Lead times vary dependent upon the time of year. Our lead times are shorter in the winter and longer in the spring, summer and autumn.

To avoid the expense of you paying your local council any possible planning or building regulation fees, we adhere to the following:

1. Garden buildings up to 15m2 internal floor area – minimum 0.5 metres (500mm) from any boundary.

2. Garden buildings over 15m2 to 30m2 – minimum 1.0m (1000mm) from any boundary.

All we ask is that the site area be clear of any obstacles (i.e. rocks, trees, shrubs, sheds, etc).

It is preferable to have a soil or grass area to install the foundation system. We install our garden buildings on a flat or gently sloping site area. If your site area slopes a lot then it may need leveling before we can install the garden building.

Ideally, we will require parking for at least one van (we use long wheel base Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans – 7m long) and a clear access to the site area. This could be via a side access gate, garage or possibly through the house (as long as there are no 90-degree sharp turns). Many components are 3m, 4m or 5m long and we cannot bend them!

All our garden buildings are hand built on site and as such the installation teams require a minimum of 0.5m (500mm) from any obstacle (boundary, fence or trees, etc) for construction purposes.

We use a specially designed concrete and pile foundation system using heavy duty galvanised steel piles. The steel piles are fully adjustable to suit flat or gently sloping site areas. The garden building is raised off the ground to allow a vented space underneath. This ensures that the garden structure will not be affected by rising damp. We can install the garden building onto an existing concrete base or patio base as long as it is free of any cracks of substantial construction and at least 100mm or 4 inches thick.

Each building price includes a complete electrics package including: Consumer unit, electrical sockets, light and switch. On completion of the garden building our qualified electrician will visit you to test the internal electrics and provide an electrical certificate in readiness for the mains connection. To connect mains electricity from your house to the garden building, you can either use your own electrician or we can provide you with a quote to carry out the works for you.

External cladding options include: Fibre Cement, Composite, Thermowood, Natural Stone and Western Red Cedar.
Fibre cement, composite and natural stone external cladding does not require any additional treatments. Thermowood does not require treatment or maintenance and if required, can be stained or painted to create a unique finish.

Natural Western Red Cedar has natural preservatives and is resistant to decay so requires no additional treatment. You can use cedar or teak oil to maintain its natural colours. If left, over time the Thermowood and Western Red Cedar will eventually turn to a natural grey colour similar to that of teak garden furniture.

All our PVCu and Aluminium doors and windows are supplied with a secure operating mechanism for ease As standard we include dark grey (Anthracite) PVCu profiles on all patio doors, fixed glass window panels and opening windows. Most customers prefer the dark grey profile colour as it blends perfectly with the natural tones of the beautiful Western Red Cedar external timber. However, if required we can supply different colour profiles including: White and Oak grain. In addition, we can supply any bespoke door or window in either PVC-U or Aluminium. Aluminium patio, sliding and bi-folding doors and windows are available in any RAL colours.
Yes, we often construct internal partition wall and timber doors. The location of the internal walls and doors can be decided by the customer while the installation team are on site. We can also supply a store room or WC inside the garden building. Our installation team are more than happy to work with a plumber to ensure all necessary fixings are in place, ready for your plumber to connect the required services.

All our garden buildings are built to Building Regulations and are extremely thermally efficient, including double glazed doors and windows. The heat retention properties of our garden structures means you will not require any heating for the majority of the year.

As an optional extra, we can supply you with a slim wall mounted panel heater to provide heat inside your garden structure during the winter months. Each panel heater comes complete with a thermostat and 24 hour timer.
